            <section>
  <para>
    This dataset was produced as part of a research project investigating the influence of urbanization
    on the chemical diversity of Thyme populations and on the associated pollinator communities.
  </para>

  <para>
    The dataset includes only pollinator data: occurrences and abundances of flower-visiting insects
    recorded on 11 Thyme populations located within the municipality of Montpellier (France).
  </para>

  <para>
    Temperature measurements and analyses of Thyme chemical variability were conducted during the study,
    but these data are not included in the present dataset.

Observers identified pollinators to the lowest possible taxonomic level and recorded abundance values for each taxon. Following field collection, data were digitized, standardized, and formatted for integration into biodiversity information systems. Taxonomic names were harmonized using the TAXREF reference taxonomy. Geographic coordinates and sampling dates were validated and formatted according to Darwin Core standards. Sampling sites correspond to 11 populations of Thymus vulgaris distributed along an urbanization gradient, ranging from highly urbanized environments (parks, road verges, residential green areas) to more natural peri-urban habitats. This spatial design aimed to capture variability in environmental conditions and plant chemical diversity across contrasting urban contexts.</para>

At each site, observers recorded all flower-visiting insects and estimated their abundance during sampling sessions. Surveys focused on key pollinator groups, including bees, hoverflies, beetles, and other floral visitors.
