Descrição
This dataset, derived from the personal collection of Rumsaïs Blatrix, documents the diversity and spatial distribution of soil fauna, with a particular focus on ants and woodlice, based on specimen records collected in France and abroad.
The observations were conducted across a wide range of ecological contexts and were not produced following a standardized sampling protocol. Instead, the dataset reflects a natural history collection approach, integrating opportunistic field collections carried out over time.
The dataset notably includes ants and woodlice occurrence records and taxonomic identifications associated with collection localities and sampling dates. Individuals are preserved in collection.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

O pessoal envolvido no projeto:
Métodos de Amostragem
Specimens were collected through opportunistic field sampling conducted across different sites and time periods. No standardized sampling design was applied, as the dataset follows a natural history collection approach. Collected individuals were preserved and later identified using morphological examination.
| Área de Estudo | The dataset covers multiple sampling locations in France and abroad, reflecting the geographic breadth of the personal collection of Rumsaïs Blatrix. Records originate from a variety of ecological contexts, with a focus on ants and woodlices. |
|---|
Descrição dos passos do método:
- 1. Field collection of soil fauna specimens, primarily ants and woodlice, across diverse geographic locations. 2. Preservation of collected individuals within a personal reference collection. 3. Taxonomic identification using visual examination under stereomicroscope and relevant taxonomic literature. 4. Digitization of specimen records, including locality, date, collector, and taxonomic identification. 5. Formatting and standardization of occurrence data to comply with GeoNature and Darwin Core standards for publication to GBIF.
