説明
This dataset documents soil and near-soil biodiversity surveyed at multiple sampling sites associated with schools. It includes three complementary components: ant communities recorded from baited sampling, and earthworms and fungi detected using environmental DNA (eDNA). The objective is to provide standardized occurrence and abundance information for several taxonomic groups sampled at the same locations and dates, enabling comparative analyses of biodiversity patterns across sites and sampling methods.
Ant data consist of site-level occurrence and abundance records derived from attractant baits. Earthworm and fungal data are based on eDNA detections from environmental samples; values represent detection-based abundance proxies and are provided as standardized records for biodiversity reporting. Environmental and site descriptors were recorded during sampling but are not included in this occurrence file.

収集方法
Ant communities were surveyed in 2023 and 2024 using baited sampling at each site. Baits consisted of a mixture of protein and honey used to attract ants and were deployed following a consistent field procedure. Taxa were identified from collected individuals. Earthworms and fungi were assessed in 2024 using environmental DNA (eDNA): environmental samples were collected at each site in different substrates and processed to detect taxa present. Soil microorganisms were also sampled using eDNA methods but are not included in this dataset. Records presented here represent occurrence and abundance information derived from these standardized sampling approaches.
| Study Extent | Sampling was conducted in 2023 and 2024 across multiple school-associated sites within an urban context in a Mediterranean habitat. Sites represent distinct local environments and were surveyed in February 2024 using standardized protocols. The dataset covers multiple taxonomic groups (ants, earthworms, fungi) collected or detected at comparable spatial locations, allowing cross-site comparisons of biodiversity patterns within and among groups. |

Method step description:
- Sampling sites were selected and georeferenced, and surveys were conducted on recorded sampling dates. Ants were sampled using attractant baits; specimens were collected and identified using standard laboratory identification procedures. Environmental samples were collected for earthworm and fungal assessments and processed using eDNA workflows to detect taxa. Taxonomic names were standardized and matched to reference taxonomy (TAXREF), including manual correction for selected higher taxa or species groups. The data were formatted as occurrence records (Darwin Core) for publication and reuse.
