Description
Offshore marine mammals sighting data in Denmark. Offshore platform data Each sighting event (performed from an offshore platform or a boat) is related to a particular offshore platform name. The corresponding GPS coordinates have been derived from tabular or GIS data provided by Total as well as GIS data found on the Danish Energy Agency website(https://ens.dk/en/our-services/oil-and-gas-related-data/shape-files-maps). Species data The taxonomy sheet found in the provided Excel file was used along with research on various websites to replace common names by the full scientific names or taxonomic ranks as required per the GBIF format.
Data Records
The data in this sampling event resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 233 records.
1 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section.
