Description
Honoré Roux (1812-1892) fut Président honoraire de la Société d’Horticulture et de Botanique et directeur adjoint du Jardin botanique de Marseille. Il a constitué un herbier de phanérogames comportant plus de 7000 taxons ayant servi de base à la publication d’un ouvrage majeur : « Le Catalogue des plantes de Provence » (1881 et son supplément en 1889) concernant la flore des départements de Provence, Alpes et Côte d’Azur. En outre, il a récolté et mis en herbier de nombreux cryptogames minutieusement listés et rangés selon la numérotation de ses cahiers personnels dont la très grande majorité ont été récoltés dans les Bouches-du-Rhône entre 1850 et 1880. Ce jeu de données est issu de l’inventaire de ses collections de cryptogames : - Les bryophytes (1748 échantillons), - Les lichens (908 échantillons), - Les fungi (525 échantillons).
Cette collection a été inventoriée grâce à une subvention du Ministère de l’Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche pour l’Informatisation des collections scientifiques patrimoniales (AAP 2022).
