Marine mammals - mainly cetaceans (whales and dolphins) but including pinnipeds (seals) and marine turtles

Sampling Methods

Visual observer stationed on an offshore drilling rig. Lookout duties with binoculars, scanning the water surface for any signs of marine mammals. Only sightings which were positively identified to species level is logged here (i.e. unidentified whale encounters were not included in this dataform)
