Description

The data were collected as part of ENGIE Renewables’ project : Biodiversity through students' eyes. This project is led in partnership with the French Committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the National Museum of Natural History (NMHN) and the University of Paris-Saclay. The aim of the project is to enable students to observe biodiversity in an operational renewable energy production site. Observations are carried out by students in first year of master degree in ecology in the Marcoussis‘ solar photovoltaic power plant (Essonne, France). They use participatory science protocols developed by Vigie-Nature (NMHN program). Bird observations were made using the STOC protocol. The same 11 listening points were recorded during three successive outings between March and June 2022 on the Marcoussis power plant. During each outing, the group of students carried out the listening points in the reverse order to the previous outing, to eliminate any bias linked to the time of day. Flora observations were made using the Vigie-Flore protocol. One flora outing was carried out in june 2022. The line 2 to line 12 inclusive: corresponds to an area where photovoltaic panels are located. The line 13 to line 64 inclusive: corresponds to a Refuge zone forbidden to human prospecting and without photovoltaic panels. The line 65 to 84 inclusive: corresponds to a buffer zone (between the panel zone and the refuge zone). Pollinator observations were made using the SPIPOLL protocol. There are 1 date because 1 pollinator outing was carried out in June 2022. Odonates observations were made using the STELI protocol. Two odonates outing was carried out in June 2022. The line 2 to line 8 inclusive and 13 to 19 inclusive: corresponds to a Refuge zone forbidden to human prospecting and without photovoltaic panels. The line 9 to 12 inclusive and 21 and 21 inclusive: corresponds to an area where photovoltaic panels are located.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 276 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Versions

The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.
