Composed of fewer than 100 documented specimens, a third of which are fossils, the collection mostly originates from Europe or Japan. Main contributors are Ludwig Döderlein (Japan 1880-1881), Heinrich Simroth (fossils from Swabia) and Ernst Benecke (fossils from Europe)
