A checklist of all extant species recorded in Phnom Tbeng Natural Heritage Park, Preah Vihear Province, Cambodia. The dataset includes Khmer vernacular names.

Data Records

The data in this checklist resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 82 records. 1 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.

  • Taxon (core)
    82
  • VernacularName
    29

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Project Data

Phnom Tbeng Natural Heritage Park (PTNHP) was established in 2016 as protected area, with a total size of 25,269 hectares, under the management of the Ministry of Environment (MoE). PTNHP has a general elevation of about 400 meters and forms a key component of the upper watershed of the Stung Sen River, a tributary of the Tonle Sap Lake. This protected area contains some of the last remaining evergreen and semi-evergreen forest habitats in northern Cambodia and is of high importance for wildlife conservation and provision of ecosystem services. The PTNHP forests also ensure a supply of freshwater to surrounding communities and prevent soil erosion from the area’s steep slopes. The site is supported by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Cambodia program.
